The Independent newspaper cargo trikes at the People's Vote march

Shepherd Market - I'd forgotten it actually existed. Not a cycleway, though.

Afterthought

No turns between the new St Rollox Drive and Keppochhill Drive. There is also no connection from the cycleway to Keppochhill Drive industrial estate. Must U-turn at the Keppochhill Road junction crossing.

The new road layout at the junction of Fountainwell Road and St Rollox Drive does not include a connection to the new cycleway. The speed of some of the traffic on the new road seemed quite high.

A 'No Cycling' sign on the path that now leads to the cycleway adjacent to St Rollox Drive.

The new cycleway along St Rollox Drive leads onto this footway which has not been upgraded. It is obstructed ahead by utilities work and the only way onto the road is across the grass. There's also a 'No Cycling' sign on the back of the ... [more]

The junction of Fountainwell Road and St Rollox Drive, seen from the old footpath along the edge of Sighthill Cemetery. The start of the cycleway can be seen, and this is the only access.

Effectively the end of the new cycleway alongside St Rollox Drive, with no way back onto the road and only a connection to the old footpath.

No longer just a footpath - this should be signed as a route from central Trumpington to the busway and Addenbrooke's

An Elephant Bike - as described in Camcycle's current magazine https://www.camcycle.org.uk/newsletters/144/article29.html

A few stands quite a way from the new Royal Papworth Hospital

The cycle stands at the new Royal Papworth Hospital are almost full already.

Just put up a sign on an inadequate footpath and call it shared-use ?

If cyclists could be encouraged to go via the private Latham Close it might do something to alleviate the notorious peak cycle jams at the Brooklands Avenue/Trumpington Road crossing.

If an Except Cyclists plate could be added here (via the private Latham Close) it might do something to alleviate the notorious peak cycle jams at the Brooklands Avenue/Trumpington Road crossing.

Tower Bridge closure - 5 minutes for a ship to pass through, and for lots of cyclists to gather at the front of the queue (there are two pigeons on the bridge which quite happily rode up and down)..

Ten spaces in front of the new Royal Papworth Hospital!

A few racks near the main entrance to the Royal Papworth hospital, good but many more needed.

Left turn only (to Tower Bridge) except for cyclists (NCN route 4 straight ahead) - take care.

Cycle contraflow under London Bridge station

No Motor Vehicles except for access on the south side of London Bridge station - there's plenty of room for cycle parking or a contraflow cycle lane, but no.

Vinegar Yard - very hipster, no cycle parking

Cycle route sign to Bermondsey and Catford from the south side of London Bridge station

The road past the south side of London Bridge suddenly becomes one-way, although there's room for a contraflow cycle lane - most cyclists keep going anyway, as there's almost no motor traffic.

  • Icon 111213 There are only 4 stands and never any space when I arrive in the morning. People are chaining their bikes to the fence but I worry that they will be removed. Denmark Hill is a busy commuter station and not enough cycle parking has considered for the needs.
  • Icon 111199 I live with 3 other bicycle owners and my neighbours are also cyclists and would like bicycle parking. We live on a quiet cul de sac and have had illegal theft occur multiple times by the garages next to our house and so we really need safe bike parking. A secure bicycle parking shelter for at least 6 bikes would be ideal and would encourage us all to cycle more instead of driving, even when it's cold and rainy!
